Economist/Health Services Researcher

The Economist at the Robert Graham Center forms part of a multidisciplinary analytic team of physician-researchers and social scientists. The Graham Center is actively engaged in projects on topics including health disparities, cost/utilization of care, primary care workforce, and care transformation. The Economist will have the opportunity to develop their own research agenda in addition to supporting team projects.
On an ad-hoc basis, the Economist may be asked to respond to questions from the AAFP’s Government Relations team or lend expertise on issues including payment reform, quality measurement and workforce. Approximately 5 days travel per year.
Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree, with masters-level training in economics and statistical methods. The candidate will have knowledge of United States or global health policy issues and experience with Stata and/or SAS. In addition, the preferred candidate would have research experience in an academic, non-profit or similar setting; familiarity with the publication process; and/or prior work with claims, survey or workforce data.
