    POSITION: Maintenance Mechanic
    Weston Public Schools

    Qualifications:
    • 10 years minimum commercial/industrial experience in a mechanical trade (Plumbing, Steamfitter, HVAC mechanic) in the repair, maintenance, and operation of a large facility boiler room and HVAC chillers and physical plant systems and equipment in a school or institutional setting
    • Trade license required; P-2, S-2, D-2 or higher
    • High School Diploma with clean drivers license
    • Experience at coordinating project work
    • Must be a good team member; able to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors
    • Must be flexible to fill-in other job areas as needed (Custodial/Maintenance)


    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Respond to service calls, evaluate the issue and perform all work required to mitigate backups, floods, and secure and correct any unhealthy or hazardous condition to maintain a safe work environment and for all staff, students, and visitors affected following all necessary safety practices.
    • Takes self-initiative to maintain a high level of work standards and reliability. Must present excellent customer service skills in dealing with the school staff and students.
    • Maintain equipment in good and safe operating condition.
    • Such other duties as may be assigned.


    Employment Terms: Fulltime – 12-month position – competitive salary packet with excellent benefits per contact with local AFSCME 1303-110, Grade V, Step 1
